Workshop Overview

In this workshop, students will learn how to plan an archaeological site during and after excavation. Students will learn how to prepare the materials for planning and to prepare a plan for publication. Students will then learn why and how to draw an archaeological plan. Students will learn different illustration conventions such as how to show different features and types of information, and when to use them. Students will also learn how to link a plan to other archaeological information. The practical elements of the workshop will include preparing a plan for an excavation and doing actual field measuring.
